The Lieto study
The study on the elderly of Lieto is a longitudinal study of clinical epidemiology on those of 65 years of age or over. The purpose is to study general illnesses and diseases among the elderly with a particular interest in the diseases of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems. Clinical characteristics, epidemiology, and the effects for functioning abilities and a quality of life in an unselected elderly population are of special concern.
