Medical Education Research and Development Centre
It is obvious that modern medical education and its development should be based on the best available evidence in educational research and practice.
Continuous research-based revision and development of medical education processes was seen as central during the reform of the Undergraduate Medical Education Programme in 2001-2008. To support this reform and to develop teaching and learning in the Faculty, a Medical Education Research and Development Centre (TUTKE) was founded in 2002.
The Centre acts as a community of scholars (without final decision-making powers in the Faculty) to investigate, plan, prepare, implement and develop education.
The Medical Education Research and Development Centre (TUTKE) supports implementation and evaluation of the Undergraduate Education Programme, coordinates the Personal Tutoring System for students, organises pedagogical training courses for teachers, and carries out educational scientific investigations, as well as organising educational events and publishing educational reviews and reports for the teaching staff of the Medical Faculty. One of the main tasks of the Centre is systematic quality assurance of teaching and learning in the Faculty.
