Introduction

Lemex (Learning medical expertise) is a research project aiming to investigate the learning of medical students during the course of medical education and to develop medical teaching and teaching methods so that they satisfy the needs of both the students and their future patients. This study is a longitudinal follow-up study and its sample consists of students who began their education in the fall of 2006 at the medical faculties of the Universities of Oulu and Turku. Research groups of the study are multidisciplinary where medical and educational expertise meet.
