Research
The main lines of research have been clinical allergology and sleep apnoea. Large population studies have been performed in clinical allergology in Finland and in Mongolia. In these studies the factors associated with the morbidity, as well as the consequencies of the diseases have been analyzed. Immune mechanisms of IgE mediated allergies are also investigated and new adjuvants for the specific immune therapy are searched for. There are also research projects on obstructive lung diseases, lung cancer, and tuberculosis in the Department.
