Teaching period of Pulmonary diseases and Clinical allergology starts together with teaching of Dermatology (IKA-block) according to the new curriculum 07 April 2008 at 8:00 a.m. The period starts with two consecutive lecture weeks and group teachings start from the third teaching week onwards.
All group teaching in Clinical Allergology and part of the group teaching in Pulmonary diseases is given in the T-hospital of TYKS (University Central Hospital of Turku), 2nd floor. Clinical teaching on the wards and teaching rounds occur in the Department of Pulmonary Diseases in Paimio Hospital that is situated 30 km out of Turku towards Helsinki, in Paimio city. Paimio Hospital is reached either by bus Nr 111 (bus stop at Cathedral Park on the right hand side from the bridge) or by private car. Bus travel takes almost an hour. Bus stops at the main door of Paimio Hospital.
Tuberculosis and lower respiratory infections are taught during the spring semester 2008 to the course C6. Group teaching occurs in Paimio Hospital and in Satakunta Central Hospital in Pori.
