Welcome to the web-page of Finnish Doctoral Programme in Nursing Science

Finnish Doctoral Programme in Nursing Science was established in 1995. It is a national doctoral programme steered and coordinated by the Department of Nursing Science, University of Turku collaborating with five Finnish Universities: University of Eastern Finland, University of Oulu, University of Tampere, University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University. The programme has a full-time co-ordinator.

The aim of the Finnish Doctoral Programme in Nursing Science is to educate both nationally and internationally recognized researchers in the field of nursing science as well as to promote the development of multidisciplinary research in the nursing science field internationally and nationally.

The programme has many activities. There are nine full-time doctoral students aiming to reach PhD-degree with the main discipline of nursing science. The programme is actively arranging PhD-courses, seminars and symposiums in different parts of Finland and it supports the national mobility of students by rotations in research groups in different universities. The programme also has active international collaboration.

The programme is working based on general strategy, international strategy and quality assurance strategy.

In this web-page, you can find information about the programme, the students, the courses and the connections to links in the field of research and PhD-education in nursing science. You can also partly find  the copies of the course material. We ask a permission for including material into the web pages from all teachers. In the case, that we do not have permission, only the post-graduate students are able to receive the material.
