Empowering patient education (25 ects)
Empowering patient education -course is designed for master and PhD -students in nursing and health sciences.
Aims
The course aims at describing the theoretical and methodological basis for empowering patient education from the perspectives of patient, personnel, health care organization and society, deepening understanding of analyzing and implementing and doing research of the empowering patient education, and making judgements about empowering patient education in clinical settings and research.
The course contains five modules:

| Part II | October 22nd-23rd 2012 | 3. Patient education as an empowering intervention (5 ects) |
| Part III | December 12th-14th 2012 | 4. Evaluation of empowering patient education (5 ects) 5. Special issues in empowering patient education research (5 ects) |
The students prepare review during the course. The students must be present in parts 1 and 3. Part 2 can be completed online.
The course is managed by the research project group of Outcomes of Patient Education at the Department of Nursing Science in the University of Turku in Finland.

Participants can attend on EPE International Symposium 30. - 31.8.2012. There is no registration fee for students who attend on EPE 2012 Course.
