Dermatology and Venereology

Course title:

MEDI0302 Dermatology and Venereology
Duration: 7 weeks, Spring term, April - May
Curricular position: fifth year
Language of instruction: Finnish and English
Content: The most important and common dermatological and sexually transmitted diseases and their treatments will be covered in this course which is identical to the course for the Finnish students, going on at the same time.19 lectures of dermatology will be given partly in English and partly in Finnish. 3 hours of sexually transmitted diseases will be lectured in English. 28 hours of practical training in in-and out-patient wards, 18 hours of group teaching in English  will be given. 40 patient cases with figures in the internet to be studied at home, and discussed in group sessions.
Aims:

The goal of the course is to learn to identify and independently treat the most common dermatological and venereal diseases.

Prerequisites:

Three students in clinical phase of their medical studies are accepted, based on the arrival date of the applications
